Hi guys and gals

I have decided to set up a new tank for quite some time now as I have given up the hobby about 2 years ago (worst thing I could ever do)....and I am burning to start with the new one,some specs.
TANK
Ok so the new tank is a 1.5mx450x500 with a corner box overflow ,galvanized steel stand and wooden cabinet....
(EXOTICS TANK)
SUMP
1.4mx450x400 it has got 6 chambers the first is for the skimmer (reefoctupus NW-110) the second is for the filter rock (live rock)and the third is a filter media chamber the forth is for a nice big DSB (15cm deep),going on to the 5th is the return chamber(HX6530 hailea pump) with auto top up switch.......the 6th is a R.O reserve chamber with the auto top up pump.....
Heating will be done by 2 jagar 300w heaters
LIGHTING
6x 80w T5 giesemann globes
2 are actinic plus and the other 4 are aquablue

why is the DSB going to be so deep?? isnt the max depth you can go like 12cm or something??

Hi bud sorry the post is wrong it must be 15cm.......

sounds good, look forward to seeing the tank

a DSB can be from 10-15cm, i have used a remote dsb in a bucket and sand was over 50cm deep

Hi guys so the tank has been cycling for 2 weeks now and here are some update pics.......(i have tested my water about a week ago and everything was off the charts i then added some stability and probibio ,i tested my water again today end every thing is 0 thats a bit wierd for only 2 weeks of cycling?
so i tested it agaid and everything was still 0......... :whistling:

Hi fellow reefers I was looking at my live rock and I noticed there was something moving on my rock.....as I came closer I saw it was a CRAB!!!!! I think it is a stone crab but I'm not sure.....is this good or bad....

I will remove that crab.

Yeah. you need more live rock.

The sump, I'm glad Exotic upgraded their sumps. Used to be a little box that fitted on the one side of the cabinet. Does it still have the "roof" part? Seems that the sliders are still used, although I do not see the doors. Mabe you did not fit them. Anyway, looking good.

Ok I will remove the crab and put it in my dsb......I'm also just waiting for exotics to get some stock of live rock,and yes the sump still has the roof.....I'm getting 2 clowns and a hammer coral tomorrow.....so I will take some pics then.....
I want to remove post #7 as I don't like the pics I have posted there......
