Ok plans so far for SundayJ

I stay at number 9 Baruch, memorial drive, Craigavon.

To get there from NI take the William Nichol off ramp and go right down William Nichol, past Monte Casino on your right.

Left onto Witkoppen road First lights right into Cedar Avenue.
First lights left into Willow Avenue down to stop street.

At stop street turn right, over circle and Crawford Prep will be on your right. Over speed bumps and carry on down until you see signs to a church and Four ways memorial drive to the right. You turn right onto a paved road, complex is on your left.

As you go into the gate follow signs to visitors parking to the left and walk up to number 9.

I will do salads for 30 odd, charcoal for braai.

You guys bring meat and what you feel like drinking.

I only have 15 chairs give or take so if a few guys could bring camping chairs that would be welcomed.

Pregnant ladies get to sit on the couchJ

I will have enough knives and folks, but not plates so fingers or bring paper plates.

We have three talks lined up and all sound really interesting, from three very well respected hobbyists.

Bob the reef builder will chat to us about his experiences with building a phosphate and nitrate remover, and when a guy of his experienced who looks after tanks professionally sounds so excited about something, it’s a good idea to pay attentionJ he has built two recently and has lots of photos to show……and I’ll twist his arm to show us something about that new tank he is putting togetherJ

Midasblennie is overcoming his fears of computers to put together a talk on beneficial algae’s and why we should pay attention to them, how to grow them and what different algae’s there are. Certainly an aspect of my own system that is seriously lacking and I am sure we will all benefit from his talk. Also if you guys have any different algae’s you can part with to share to other guys please bring a handful or two, its always good to share chaeto and the like aroundJ

Carl has been doing some research into culturing your own planktons etc and has some pod casts and the like to share. Again an aspect of reef keeping I think will be of great benefit, perhaps more for the advanced amongst us, but many guys plan new tanks all the time and perhaps we should be looking at developing these aspects into tanks we design.

All three talks blend into each other very well and perhaps we can get one of the speakers to summarize briefly at the end with specific relationship to incorporating these things into tank design and systems.

Afterwards I will go through some slides of tank mates and tanks from around the world that I have seen, basically just eye candy. If any guys have some really good or unusual photos you want to bring on a memory stick I can scroll them through with mine.

That’s a lot of talks, but we are aiming at a very relaxed easy day, questions and discussions more than lectures with a braai going on in the background a small reef bubbling away next to us and a fun way to meet others with similar passionsJ

If you are in Gauteng and want a good family outing come join usJ As I said before little unns and childish adults are very welcome as are wivesJ

Ps the first one to arrive has to help me clean the glass of my reef!

I may have missed it but i still dont see what time youre starting.

depending on starting time I may be able to join up with you guys.

thanks
