Hi guys and gals.

I'm currently designing a new tank and would love some input.

I decided to go for a 1.3m instead of 1.2m tank so that I can fit 54w tubes. 600 high and 500 wide.

I am going to put the overflow in the middle back instead of corner, then have two inputs drilled in back.

I will make the frame myself and then cover it with black melamine or something.

This will take a few months to do (depending on cash flow), but I will keep posting as I go on.

Any ideas and comments welcome.

looking good, i cant see anything that i would change.

Im also in table view, shout if you need a hand

oh i see something, iff you can make the tank wider, i went 600 wide now and its still not enough imo, something like 700 wide will do nicely

Agree with Johan, the wider the better, mine is 800 wide but wish it was a metre.

Why is the bracing not at the top?
And why not add bracing front to back (side panels)?

I must agree with gaboon. I have 800 ans wished for 1m but you van work nicely with 800.
My previous tank was think 500 was a bit difficult to landscape.
I also saw my fish are much more relaxed at 800 wide.
