I don't know the weight. But would assume it would be less than glass as its basically a polymer plastic.
But it is a LOT stronger than glass. More bang and bump proof than glass. And off course when you scratch it, you can buff it out. Unlike glass, if its scratched, its scratched!

Yes and the acrylic is mych lighter then the glass. I just love acrylic much clearer.

Neat little build. You will more than likely need to add ballvalves to the overflow pipes as they will generate quite some noise with the falling water. I had the same plumbing design on my old tank with a long drop in vertical height and the pipes were very noisy.
