Need help with the sump design

Lol @*Philip* you dragged this out of a heap of forgotten and lost threads :p .. My sump is like a combo of yours and the one in the first pic as I have an inlet chamber with a bubble trap. Most of my sump is dedicated to the skimmer as its pretty long. As Captain Z said, it was built quite sometime ago lol.. Check my thread at the beginning to see the build, it involved a half brick and some agro ;)

Why return chamber so BIG. Or must other equiptment be housed in same compartment? With a ATU, your return chamber theoretically can be just big enough to get the return pump and ATU switches in there.

You commented on baffles and sizes, so I adjusted it. That is not the final design. Who cares when and if it was built. Its just an idea for others to use if they want to go the route of DSB with its own flow.
