did some tests on tank the weekend..had issue with skimmer which was offline for two days a few weeks back, and lost purple turbinaria to stn. I think either the lack of skimming caused the stn or possibly the doser having dosed the affluent at the bottom of dosing bottles, which I noticed at the same time.
I since shortened tubing on dosing pump so it doesn't go to bottom of bottles and deliver supplement affluent into tank. left doser off for day or two and let parameters stabilise whereafter I put doser on again
parameters are now basically the same as previous test, but phosphates have dropped slightly. I do want to drop my nitrates further though but im going to need more titanium bio cubes.
Ph:8.2
Nitrates: 5
Phosphates 0.15 (looks like that according to seachem kit but not sure how reliable it is)
Calcium 400
KH: 8
Magnesium: 1400
what you guys think of the parameters? keeping mixed reef mostly sps and lps
I also managed to save a small area of tissue on the yellow mille which seems to be growing back.
also raised lights which has made a difference ,and added a whole lot of corals, although im going to be selling a lot of stock soon before I make changes to system..sps with nice anthias is on the way.might play around with some zeo goodies but wana get nutrients down a little more.
before I raised lights..
excuse dirty glass I need to clean it up
after I raised lights
