Hermit Crab Found

Hi all
I found what i think is a hermit crab in my live rock. Looks like he has got red eyes but have not been able to get a good look at him. Found him by luck. Is there something i must do for him like put a shell in for him or should i leave him in his hole in the live rock?

Hi there, are you sure it's a hermit crab and not a pistol or mantis shrimp?

He will not be a hermit. hermits are not shy cos they have a crash helmet. use glass against liverock at an angle with a piece of nori or shrimp in it to entice it in. do this after lights out. the crab slides in to get food and cannot get out . that way you can look at him.

Not to sure. He is def a crab but not sure what kind. he has got little red eyes and stripes on his legs. trying to get him out is hole in the live rock but hav not been able to have a good look at him.

Set the trap for him just before lights out. and by the morning you should have him in the glass.
