great idea, easier to use the plastic speghetti containers

just dont fluidise your carbon
 
I assume that you can't use one reactor for carbon, phosphate and nitrate? Currently I've got a DYI carbon/phosphate reactor

The writer of the thread mentioned that his phosphates is somehow also dropping since he used the reactor. So in other words, it seems he's done just that by adding a carbon sock too.

in other words dont make the carbon go bouncy, bouncy, rub, rub against each other cause it effectively it becomes sand paper against each other grinding it away to dust then that will go and settle over every thing in your DT

like that and it can cause HLLE in fish
