Good day MASA people,

So I have decided to re-do my tank, BUT I am clueless to the chemical side of filtration.

I have been running a DSB for 4 years and had no issues, but seeing that I am changing everything, I want to go the other route.

What do I need to do this, What reactors/media do I need?

The system will be a mix of LPS/SPS softies Zoa's, so complete mix.

Any advice will be appreciated.

chemical filtration is the use of chemicals to aid in water cleansing etc, eg GFO etc.

what you should focus on is biological, mechanical then chemical.

i would use LR, skimmer, filter socks and if you can a refugium

Have a lot of LR, Skimmer is fine, have filter socks in place, will have space for refugium. So want to know what else I can add to aid, Activated carbon, NP pellets, and so on.

well i run carbon 1ml per L changed every 30 days
i run GFO when i need to, and let fuge do the rest

keep it simple

Cool,

This is basically what I was thinking, just needed some input from other reefers, there is a lot of info on individual equipment, but not a lot about what works well together.
@dallasg is there a picture of your filtration somewhere on this site, or can you post one?
