Hi gman, these go for R2670 brand new, i would also be interested for maybe R1.4k if it is still in great condition.
Maybe thats a different lens Singularity, this lens new is 5k, call Catz Expert on 0117841925 for price..
is it the same as this ? SAcamera.co.za - Canon EF 50mm f2.5 COMPACT MACRO
What is the f-stop on this lens?
Sorry guys, I seem to have posted the wrong spec on this lens, altho it is a 50mm macro, there is 3 variations.... will post proper spec this evening.... apologies..
i can only find 1 50mm macro and it is the one posted fstop of 2.5.
if the one you have has a fstop of f1.8, f1.4 or f1.2 it is a 50mm prime lens, the 50mm f1.4 sells for R3400, the f1.8II for R999 and the 50mm f1.2 L usm sells for about R15k new.
Thanks singularity, will post later, never used this lens so not entirely sure of the spec... noob!!
This sounds very dodge to me, how are you selling something you don't know about....
Thats the 50 F1.4.
Ross, read my earlier post, I never used this lens hence not knowing full spec... If u think this is dodge, don't post anymore on this thread.... Here is spec: on the lens rim it reads: Canon Lens EF 50mm 1:1.8 (& a roman numeral 2) - 0.45m/1.5ft. Again, apologies for posting incorrect spec..... Anybody that has use of this lens, make me a decent offer....
Then it is the normal 50mm, you should look for R500-600
Thanks buddy, I guess that's the price I'll be askin for then. Again I apologize for posting incorrect info, hey Ross, hope u didn't take any offense at my previous post
Stupid question, what is the advantage of using a fixed focal lens apposite to my std 18 - 55mm? just a basic answer please!
Haven't got a clue thats why I'm sellin it. Bought the camera with 2 lens, this one & a 55-200.... tried taking couple pics with the 50mm last night.....I'm no photographer but it seems to have a very small focus radius if that makes sense & I find it difficult to actually focus on what I want to shoot.... maybe a pro knows how to use this lens.....
The main difference between the fixed 50 and your zoom is the aperture. The prime has a large aperture (low f-number) which means faster shutter speeds. And as Gman has said, harder to focus since the depth of field is very narrow.
I'll offer you R400 for it Gman!!
