where do they come from and how do I get them into my tank to feed my mandarin
They will start to breed on their own, how mUch LR do you have, how old is your system?
what is the diff. between PH. and alklinity?
Guys
I am aware that brown algea is normal part of the cycling of the tank.
I just have two questions regarding this:
1. The brown algea is now starting to grow on the glass and back of tank. Is this OK? Will it go away on its own or should I get a magnetic cleaner to remove it?
2. I see little bubbles forming on the live rock where the brown algea is growing. What is this? and what is happening here.
Tx
No, it won't totally go away from the glass, and later on you will also have coralline algae growing on the glass - so: you must use a cleaner (magnetic type or razor-blade scraper) to regularly clean the glass. Will it go away on its own or should I get a magnetic cleaner to remove it?
Most likely oxygen bubbles produced by the photosynthesis occurring in the algae. Not bad, and should clear up as the algae becomes less. Once the tank has cycled, some "biological control" in the shape of a few snails will go a long way to help to reduce the algae.I see little bubbles forming on the live rock where the brown algea is growing. What is this?
