I don't get it. He implicates that "cooking rock" is stupid. Then how come experience reefers still do it?? I am a bit lost here:(

talking about lettuce... I witnessed a overly zealious dude in a lfs (he was a customer) claiming that as soon as his fish show signs of white spot, he feeds them spinage and it sorts the white spot out in no time.
The guy was a real .... 'ja broer' if you know what i mean :whistling: but is there any thruth in this ? Was the first and only time I heard about it. (think he gave up the hobby though...never saw him again in the one-and-only lfs we have)

I used to set my skimmer to skim very wet after I had been fiddling in my tank or when I did a water change, skimmed about 50 liters over 2 hours. Doing it continually is a waste of time.

If your rock is totally covered with hair algea then take drastic steps, but it is not always necessary. It normally boils down to inefficient water movement or inefficient filtration.
