Hey guys.

Just a weird maybe silly question but anyway...

Where do i put my auto top up switch...

in the sump or in the main tank

also where do i put the inflow then

in the sump or the tank

if in the sump then which compartment the inflow or outflow?

HI @Jt143 the auto top off float valve (switch) needs to go in the return chamber (OUTFLOW) in your sump because this is where the water level drops or rises due to how much water you have in the tank and the RO water that you are pumping into the tank for top offs can also go in the return (OUTFLOW) because it will only add small amounts of R.O water so wont affect your salinity.

Just a word of advice, if you have the auto topup with the little bottle over the float switch, remove the bottle. My auto topup flooded once due to air being stuck in the little bottle so it never switched off.

A open top bottle should be better right?

Yes it would be. I've taken the bottle off mine almost a year ago and (touch wood) haven't had any issues.
