I havent had time to read the article as yet. Quick question though, would a large CUC increase the bioload drastically? Therefore the increase of nutrients?

Technically it should not be a huge impact depending on your feeding routine. A troup of shrimp being fed a pinch of flakes should not kill your water quality but one shrimp being fed a hake fillet will definitely.
What and how many clean up crew do you have and size tank?

I have 4 cleaner shrimp, 2 fire shrimp(don't clean much), many many snails and hermits I don't have a number as my nephew loves bringing them from rock pools when he visits and 4 sand sifting stars. Its a +- 900 litre.

No fish for the last month as they have all been in QT as i had a small white spot incident.
