How agressive are yellow tail damsels

Is a yellow damsel fish good for my tank or are they very agressive.Anyone got some advice here,I want to get one tomorrow?:)
 
I have one in my nano, and added 2 perculas and they are all fine and even swim together.

Mine is 3cm , clowns are 3 and 4cm

From my experience, one yellow tail in a tank with larger inmates, no problem, but if it becomes the "larger" inmate can be a problem.

In saying that out of all the damsels the yellowtail is one of the least aggressive other than maybe Chromis.

Stay away form Dominos, Humbugs etc.

Thanks Warr.My line up at the mo is:
1 Royal Blue angel
1 Sailfin tang
1 Convict tang
6 Scissor tails
1 banana wrasse
1 (something)wrasse I wish someone could positively id it for me
1 L N Hawkfish
1 mandarin
3 Purple anthias
2 goldies
5 Chromis

all of which are about the same size as a fully grown Y T damsel.I have 10 anthias in total,I wonder if that would be a problem or a good thing....Also my royal blue owns the reef and I would hate for him to be bullied out...Perhaps I should give it a miss.Pity though,that blue colour is something my tank doesnt have.:(
 
No probs with the yellowtail. If you going for a pair than they going to pick fights.
 
NO!!! damsels are nasty:) any damsel save for a clown is my enemy

Shhoooowweee!!!!I am now back to square one,I appreciate the input,but it seems another one of those many situations where its a 50/50 chance you take.DAMN!!!The other problem is how will all the others react to him,my purple anthias are quite pushy themselves...hmmmmmm:p
 
I am at a 80-20 in favour of getting one today.For two reasons 1) Ive always wanted a brilliant blue fish and 2)I feel so sorry for the fish in the LFS that are really not being looked after at all.The tanks are dirty,there is hardly any lighting,the fish look very sad indeed:(
 
those are two of the worst reasons i have ever heard of putting a fish in your tank goodisor!

having said that I would have no fear of putting a yellow tail in your tank. One that is. and as the other fish are dominant or pushy (your words) he will battle to become dominant. I really do think you will be fine:)

but it its a dirty LFS and not being looked after you run a HUGE risk of putting all your tank mates at risk. Jacob might get away with taking risks and taking a shower afterwards but ummmmmm its still not advisable!
 
goodisor: although you feel like you are "saving" the fish, you could also be adding disease to your current system...
