I just search the Web and go thru most of them...the one's with the best info regarding a Species is usually the one I use...what you find on the one Site may have no knowledge on another Site...Like the "FrogFish"...1st time I stumbled across it...it was the most "complete"..I don't usually take Sites that "sell" fish as they don't always get the "scientific" name 100% but sometimes they are spot on regarding Care and Behaviour...so I use them too...will get some Sites for you...but go thru this Thread on MASA...
ID websites - Marine Aquariums of South Africa
I try and add on to it...usually "Scientific Sites" ...but usually my Quotes and Links in my Post are from those that sell them.....

PS: The Links are at the bottom of my Quotes...I use most of them and a couple of handful more...depending who covers what Species I might be looking into...

I read some articles and revived my list. Actually complete redo, only cause i don't want to kill any animals.
So here goes.

Clownfish are from the same family as damselfish and enjoy basically the same ease of care as damselfish. Clownfish can be aggressive towards other fish in the tank, particularly tomato clownfish.

Blennies need plenty of hiding places but in return will demonstrate easy appetites (they'll eat just about anything you drop in the tank for them).*

Crabs are a great invertebrate choice for a beginner's saltwater tank. Choices include hermit crabs, arrow crabs, and porcelain crabs.

Damselfish are great for beginners because they're small (for the most part under 3" in tanks although some species will get up to 8"), cheap, and hardy. Couple that with the fact that they come in vibrant, electric blue and striped colors. Damselfish sure don't act like "damsels in distress;" they can be aggressive towards other fish in the tank.*

Gobies are relatively small (usually staying under 3" in tanks).

Shrimp demonstrate interesting behavior in the tank. For example, cleaner shrimp eat potential parasites off of fish - it's neat to watch fish and shrimp interact. They are relatively hardy but you'll need to watch copper and nitrate levels.

Wrasses are usually categorized as reef-safe or for fish-only tanks. These beautiful fish showcase sherbet colorations not seen in many of the other fish species. Wrasses are larger than other fish in our list and prefer live food.

So what do you think?
Thanks skippie

Trust me you will still read alot, more and more each day.
But research is the key.

Clowns are always a nice addition to a tank.
But still be carefull what speicies you add, some can also be very agro.

I believe every tank should have a blennie, they are so cool to watch man.
Ive got a Midas, very cool fish, shy at first and later on alot beter.
Bi colour blennies also look cool, i also have a lawnmower blennie in my other tank. Still a bit shy.

Great cleanup crew. Just watch to not let them grow to big.
They tent to bump coral over.

I dont know if ill every buy damsels again.
If you do and youve got clowns in the tank wich is not to agro.
Then make sure your damsels are smaler than the clowns.

My yellow tail damsels tended to chase my false apercula clowns some times.

Also very cool fish, just make sure you've got a deap substrate with lots of food in when you get a sand sifter gobie, but also make sure that your coral on the substrate wont be affected by the gobie blowing the substrate all over.

Very cool to watch, mine eat out of my vingers when i hold some flakes close.
Red fire - looks nice but a little shy
Cleaner - very cool and active
Boxing - tends to steal food from other shrimps and coral but in my tank his just fine.
Glass - Looks cool, one of my clients caught some for me in east london i think a while ago, but they also hide alot.

The other shrimps i dont know that well.

Be carefull in what size and type you put with your shrimps.
If there biger than the shrims they might consider them as food.
My yellow wrasse seems fine but he is getting a bit big now.

Six line wrasse looks cool but his a agro little bugger.
Myne kept on chacing my fire gobie and for a long time i dident see him.
He also chaced my clowns.

So there you go.

I just saw you'r Post of a week ago..... If I could reselect my Fish, I think I'ld have made my choices on "duel" function...Like a Gobie or Blenny..they are not only pretty Fish...

I would select a "Designer Pair" Clowns or a "different" Nemo....
Ora black ice semi snowflake clownfish...

OR

Coral - July/August 2010

Clownfish, Clown Fish Species, Facts About Clown Fish, and Clown Fish Images.

Then I'll take the Black Sailfin Blenny...talk about "dual function"...it LOVES GHA and Cyno..
Black Sailfin Blenny....

Quote:
Year after year, an aquarists favorite reef tank inhabitant, because it has a large appetite for nuisance microalgae, and while it perches upon the live rock to feed, it creates an eye-catching addition to any saltwater reef system. When properly cared for, this species of Blenny will consume massive amounts of hair or string algae. The Black Sailfin Blenny is peaceful towards tankmates of similar size and temperament. Also, the Black Sailfin Blenny may be territorial towards its own species; therefore, if incorporating more than one into the aquarium, acclimate them at the same time.

  • Segmented Sailfin Blenny (Salarias segmentatus)
  • Starry Blenny (Salarias ramosus)

Then I love this Wrasse...they are sooooo beautiful...have a look at Michael B's Tank Thread...he has all my "future" Fishy's.....the most stunning Tank I have ever seen and the fish combination will blow you'r mind..

McCosker's Flasher Wrasse...

Then we need a Gobie......This would be my selection...
Dracula Goby...(Stonogobiops dracula)

Quote:
Another characteristic the Dracula Goby share with other Shrimp Gobies, is that the Dracula Goby will also pair with pistol shrimp. Most seem to prefer Alpheus randalli as their burrowmate. However, to best promote this symbiotic relationship, both the Dracula Goby and its hopeful pistol shrimp counterpart should be introduced into the aquarium at the same time. Though peaceful, the Dracula Goby will sometimes spar with similar species, or more aggressive fish of similar size to defend its territory. However, most live peacefully with almost any non-predatory fish in a suitable sized aquarium of at least 20 gallons.

What is a Tank without Chromis Damselfishes...I saw this Article...it gives you the 5 easiest...as you can see by the discription...the Blue/Green is in most of our Tanks...the "last 2" are considered a bit harder to keep..

Black and White Chromis/Bi-Colour...

Quote:
These fish are one of the more peaceful of all the damselfish, and make a hardy addition to both reef and fish only aquariums.
Black and White Chromis

Blue Chromis...

Quote:
Peaceful. This is one of the more peaceful members of the damsel family. A pecking order will develop among the school and that is their normal behavior.

Blue/Green Reef Chromis...

Quote:
The Blue Green Reef Chromis is desirable not only for its beauty, but also for its peaceful demeanor (despite its designation as a true damselfish) and ability to be kept with almost all other community fish, invertebrates, and corals.

Purple Chromis...

Quote:
They are semi-aggressive amongst themselves and tend to be very peaceful towards dissimilar tank mates. Some adult specimens become territorial over time, but this can generally be avoided by keeping them in well stocked aquariums or adding them as juveniles to an established aquarium. They are equally at home in either reef or FOWLR aquarium setups, and are suitable for all hobbyist levels.

There really is such beautiful Fishy's out there...I just wish they were all compatable and got on like a "house on fire"... to the best of my knowledge, they all "mix"...although I have to admitt that I haven't done the Compatability Chart...that would probably be needed if you have the "Pistol" and Wrasse....I thought along the Lines of the Gobie only...with no "Pistol" but not sure if Dracula would be unhappy...?...lonely..?

Anyway...sorry for the long post..I just drifted away into my "future Tank"..
