Last night I found what looks like a sea hare in my tank, never seen it before. Does anyone known if they are known for hiding?

This tank has come along way since I started it about 6 months ago.
Just the other day I upgraded the skimmer and added the birds nest. My zoas on the top rock have been growing like weed but the one on the bottom rock seem to be dying off the zoas that I moved to put the birds nest in are almost completely dead. ![]() The blastomussa went through a stage when I thought it was going to die but has picked up again is looking almost back to normal. The angel still nips at the plate which is now not in a very good state but at least he now leaves the favia alone. ![]() Overall everything has gone very smoothly and other then a bit of a nitrate problem I had a while back which I found out was because I wasn't rinsing the sponge this tank is doing great.I have a new hitch hike a sea hare known as dolabriferia bolibriferia or warty sea cat that I spotted the other day, unfortunately haven't gotten a good pic of it. Also couldn't get a pic of the sea pen as it was buried in the sand but it has also grown quite a bit. Hope you enjoy the pics. ![]() This is My bubble tip about 5 months old it has grown from a tiny little thing that I thought was a rock anemone into this, and after moving around a bit eventually came back to where I origanally wanted it to be. Also in the pic are 2 mini maxi carpe anemones and my faourite fish a mandarin. ![]() This is a pavona that has grown really quickly from a small frag my uncle gave me. ![]() My birds nest I decide to try an sps and see how it goes so far so good. The spotted hawkfish is really interesting but can be a bit of a menace. ![]() The favia is finally looking good after the angel decided to leave it alone. The xenia is growing like a weed and is now growing up the back wall. ![]() The candy cane has also grown really quickly. The two anemones are local natal species and are also doing well but need regular feeding, or they start to look sad really quickly. ![]() The really colourful zoas are my favourite also a local species from natal. ![]() Here is the only fish I have added recently a lyretail anthais. With nemo in his regular corner. ![]() AND A FTS

Thanks the sea pen is doing great, it has grown quite a bit but at the time of the pic it was burried.
It has its own time cycle, comes in and out throughout the day. |

Looking really good, nice to see the anemone doing so well. Have you ever seen the sea pen for sale again?

I am really surprised at how well the anemone has done.
I have only ever seen that sea pen once, never before that and never since. Before I saw it I never even new there was such a thing. |

Here you go @mandrin this is the light I used two 3w leds one white and one red, attached to an old laptop heatsink. Im sure you could also fit a small flourecent light in there if you wanted to. I run it on a reverse cycle it helps keep the pH stable, So it run from 30 minutes after my main light goes off until 30 minutes before they come back on. In the second pic you can see it turned on with my cheato underneath it, and my new skimmer in the background.

Thank man.
Do you use an image editor resize your pics? I would not recommend you follow my method of tranfer as I had to do an emergency tranfer after using some medication that was supposedly reef safe, at the time my new tank had only been running for a few days. With heavy bacteria dosing everything survived but if I had the choice I would have waited a bit longer and moved everthing over bit by bit. |
