No its called a sea pen(Cavernularia obesa), it was a bit of an impulse buy as I couldn't find any info on them at the time, but it seems to be doing well. It is one of the only species of sea pen that has been succesfully kept in aquariums. It burys itself completely in the sand at night, and is also non-photosynthetic. It is a really strange thing, will try get a nice picture of it.

At one of the non sponsor pet shops in boksburg don't think im supposed to mention them on the forum, but I don't think they have any at the moment. It only cost R295. Remind me after its settled down a bit and im sure I can frag it, it looks like quite an easy coral to frag. What gorgonian do you have? |

I feed Zooplanktos-m every second day with a few drops of reef snow directed at the heads of the sun, as well as vitamin enriched brine but that more for the fish, Every other day I just feed the fish flakes. On saturdays I feed frozen cyclopeze and mysis shrimp and on wednesdays cyclopeze and dwarf angel food. When I put the food in I put my small pump on so it can move through the water for about 20 minutes before I put the main pumps back on. Once a week I do a 15L water change using red sea coral pro salt and thats about all I can tell you. Thanks I really love this little tank. Yeah its a gorgonian, it seem like its doing really well even the dead branches are coming to life now. |
