Last night just before i got into bed i took out my touch and had a look in my tank. I saw one of my hermit grabs on top of this rock and it looked like he wanted to get out of his shell the next thing i saw thousands of eggs or tiny babys under his shell and he started to let them lose. They were flying all around the tank. I was thinking of taking him out and putting him my other tank but i thought just let him be.

I dont know what the chances of any of them livivng are??? But it was cool to see.

what a pitty you didnt have a camera to take some pics. Sounds like a lovely experience to see live.

i am not sure how hermits carry their eggs, crabs normally have a flap under the tail where eggs and babbies are often kept. It would be intrestung to find out what shell living crabs do.

but congrats on seeing that, must have been very exciting:)

can you still see any of them to day. They are now on the bottom of the food chain (FOR NOW)

Not sure what shell they will live in and i will deff try and see if i can still see some, i think i'll through some tiny shells in just in case. going to keep my camera close.
It looked like the crabs kept the eggs in its body in the shell. I'm going to try find out more on this.
cheers
