its hitting autum here in norway and i took my 100mm out into the forest when i went for a walk this afternoon. I counted an incredible 24 different varieties of mushroom, many of which are eddible although i'm not taking a chance this year untill i know for sure!


but they were great subjects to get with my 100mm macro lense so i thought i would post a few shots here.

Yoh careful Crispy, there are some shrooms in them Nordic woods that got the vikings higher than twatted kites. Apparently they were so poisonous that they would let the chicks eat them first, and if they did not die, let the shroom juice *ahem* pass through and partake of the after effect and fly fly fly...... fly fly fly......

yes yes indeed, those very very pretty red on top with white speckled fellas:) called roefluesop (red fly mushrooms) in Norway. They are also rumoured to be the choice of narcotic when the vikings were about to rape and pillage a place, said to be where the word "beserk' came from.

I havent yet partaken in any though.


i think i should get some amsterdam knowledge to come join me for a walk in these forests before i go that rout :)

thats not good to hear....i would have said good riddence to another idiot, but am not that experienced in the wonders of the small dried mould to be honest.

hmmm all the more reason to learn about my own woods then :)

i walked for just over an hour and was still in my own forest:) very cool

They are called "fly agaric" mushrooms in the UK, they used to cut them up and put them in milk, leave the bowl on the table and overnight all the bugs and flies would eat the mushroom/milk and die:)
 
Over here some bloke would break in at night and drink it and die and we would be had up for murder. Go figure.

thanks dan.

im afraid i took those a while ago so cant recall the settings, but i shot those late afternoon with a 100mm macro lense. i wanted the late afternoon sun as the angled light gives far better color to the shots. if u really want i could look up shot settings for you, but id have to dig around a bit
