Hey

Last Night When I Put My Hand In My Tank It Shockt Me But When I Stand On A Piece Of Plastic It Dosent Shock Me Wat Should I Do
Can It Harm My Fish And Corals

It shouldnt harm them but for your own safety I would find the offending bit of equipment and take it out. Just turn things off one at a time till you find the culprit.

Thanks Brent I Tryd It And It Is The Skimmer But The Elektrical Cord Isent Cut

It could be any part of the motor that has become exposed or has a tiny kink in it. Time for a new skimmer pump.

one of my pumps did it and i threw it away.....also coudnt find the source4...it was somewhere in the pump itself

Hello Ruan, live electricity in a fishtank is dangerous to livestock, especially tangs, are you sorted yet.

This is shocking...

Electricity and water does not mix well.

Ruan, did you touch your light fitting while putting your hand in? Mine gives me a little zap every now when I touch the light fitting and the water but nothing too bad

hi ruan in most cases it will be the light fitting, and could be a pump should there be some sort of crack in the pump housing. if its the light fitting simply take a piece of wire connect to some metalic part and earth the bugger thats the main reason you get shocked coz the ballasts actually build up static coz they are not earthed.

Ja thats no fun, once I put my hand in my sump to clean some algae out, and got the shock of my life. The heater exploded in the sump and my backside was all thats was needed to create the short.
