Nice little tank that. For a sump you could

A - 2 compartments with a decent skimmer and overflow.

B - 3 compartments with skimmer, NP pellet reactor and overflow

C - 3 compartments with skimmer, carbon, phos and/or purigen and overflow.

D - 3 compartments with skimmer, macro algae with light only and overflow

All depends on how you want to run your tank. I had a cube like that and only used the live rock inside and a skimmer as filtration. I also ran a bit of carbon and did 10% weekly water changes.
The sump will be too small for a DSB, unless you have a remote DSB hidden somewhere in the next door room :p

@RiaanP will be able give you some good advise on this.

Running a standard 3 chamber sump, with first 150mm, (think that is just big enough for TS1) and 100mm for return, then centre chamber is about 240 by 420. That will be 40% of your display footprint.

I run a system previously with 34%. And it was a successful DSB.

I need to do some measurements on my TS1 to confirm.

For a linear sump, the TS1 skimmer need 150mm - 160mm. Return chamber you need 100mm.

you got left a centre chamber of 250 by 400.
So your DSB would be 40% of your display.

The problem with the U shape is that water flow would take short cut. Both bottom corners wil have little flow in it, if any.

Fish in a frag tank will work for sure. Fish poo is da bombz...

But then it cant be a frag tank anymore

1. Nice and neat setup, fish, coral >>> Smells like a DT to me :p
