basic internal sump design for 4 foot

Okay whats the dimensions of your tank? You could go with something like this.

If you do all that work to build an internal filtration area, why not rather just drill the tank and build a corner overflow with a proper sump underneath the tank?

why give up precious swimming space for a filter?

LOL, this was the response I got when I posted this question...

I opted to build the external sump for my 4FT. Using a 3FT sump currently.

I would def agree with Riaan, and advise you to to external.

I thought a 3FT sump will be too big, but i had to eventually make do with the space. Its also a bonus of having all the equipment out of the DT. And you also have the benefits of the DSB. Not forgetting the extra volume of water it allows. My tank also had the internal filter built in, so i removed it and got it drilled.

Good luck... Keep us posted
