The flow is nice @gMAN, definitely good pumps. Have you fiddled with the short pulse yet to make a wave? I'm sure you could manage one
When I had my Tunze wavebox I was super skrik@scubaninja
Bit afraid to try out the wave thing, would like to but read it may cause undue stress on the glass? Your thoughts?
But if your tank is built well I wouldn't worry as @ziyaadb says. You could always start small and make the wave as big as you feel safe with.
I could tell you some really scary stories about waves in tanks if you wantGonna give it a try, maybe this evening...![]()
If I made the wave big enough in my tank(by moving the wavebox as it makes its wave), the whole setup would sway. Not by much, a couple of mm but you could still see it:yeahdude:I could tell you some really scary stories about waves in tanks if you wantIf I made the wave big enough in my tank(by moving the wavebox as it makes its wave), the whole setup would sway. I'm not 100% sure with vortechs, but isnt there a mode for it or something? What I would say though, is that you set your pumps to anti-sync or just have one pump on only, then set it to short pulse and slowly change the timing for the pulse until you reach the wave you want. So start with a longer pulse period, then shorten it slightly, wait a few moments for the tank to catch up, then do it again. Thats how we tune the Tunze waveboxes so i'm sure it would work for your vortechs.@scubaninja
so to achieve the wave effect you would set the pumps to short pulses?
I only did that however, when it only had water in it and it was to test the new seals on the tank. It was also for a crest to trough wave of 10cm(i think it was 10, but 14cms comes to mind too). I think I put a video of it up, can't remember where though

I think that maybe your pulses are too quick. Slow them down some more and get a bigger wave where your nennies tentacles sway from side to side. Try each pulse being about half a second. Obviously i'm not saying time it, just judge itThis means more videos for us:yeahdude:
Only thing I don't like about it is the way my fish chow away at one side to the point where it forms a gap in the ring and falls off the suction cup.
