DB Board to replace multiplugs?

my 2 cents...

put the tom down and get it done properly, you will most likely do it all and get them out anyway to sort it out afterwards, so why spend double the amount. do it right the first time round and it will be sweet forever.

Just take into account that with DB boxes, some other laws apply.
Most of the DB boxes used on marine tanks are not legal. I do not have all the detail. As I mentioned earlier, that same laws do not apply to extension cords.

At the end of the day it is a question of Practicality VS Neatness.

Bud I am not sure on the law. We get an electrician to sign off our big installations. Most of them have profilux or Aquatronica so they have their own plug bars. A Electrician supplies us with power points and balances the power draw.

Just my 2 cents:
Every 2 weeks i remove my power heads and skimmer pump and clean it in the bathroom along with scruber etc. If its conected to a DB this will be almost imposible.

So popped in at AC/DC today and picked up some goodies got myself a mini db board with 6 mini circuit breakers and some glands. Just need some wire and stuff. A buddy of mine is gonna sort it out in this week hopefully

Yes, a DB is nice but needs to be done properly by a competent person, I'm not sure on the law side of things, as I would imagine its going to be plugged into a plug socket. I personally would recommend using a qualified person!

If the the board is going to be mounted below the tank, then the wires must only come through the bottom holes, as this will prevent water finding its way into the box.

I just want to ad something on this. If you want to install a db board and it still gets supplied from a plug you do not need to have it singed of because the plug where you are plugging it is is already singed off you must just make sure you get all the wiring right blue/black together all the greens together and all the brows /reds you connect at the bottom of the circuit breakers. And all the plugs in a house is 16 amps unless you get industrial ones.

And on the plug in and plug out problem you get special small connetors that you can use and they look a lot neater than normal plugs.
