Awsome new Red sea Test kits.

May I ask, how accurate are these tests? cause the old red sea kits are frankly pretty useless

I have the magnesium test kit. Very easy to use and seems top quality. Will try the others when i replace my existing kits

Hi , yes the colour is 3 tests.

Agree about the price , but they are about R60 - 80 more than the salifert ,so for the quality product - I love them.

i also waited long time , now the feeding A-B and C will be in ,in about a week aswell.

Has the reliability of the tests improved? Some of the older kits (Alk) did not agree with each other at all.

Has anyone used these test kits and are willing to give an opinion? Are they worth it?

I'm currently using Sera Ca and kH test kits, but they're nearly finished so I need to replace them soon.

I'm also using the normal Red Sea Nitrate and Phosphate test kits, but they don't have high enough resolution for me, all they can tell me is that I have 0 or too much nitrate/phosphate.

Hi David!
I'm also interested in the test kits! And am in The Vaal Triangle, same as CW. Am in Three Rivers East. 15min drive from CW. Maybe you can courier ours together. That way we can save on individual courier cost.
I want the Calcium, Magnesium, Alkalinity and the Colour Test kits please. Could you PM me for payment methods:lol:

Hey AndreM,

Pretty good test kits i have the 2 main ones. The Calcium,Mag & KH together in one box and then in the other box the nitrates and phosphates.
The CA,Mg & KH use the titration method and i would say pretty spot on when calculating and quite accurate. Am battling a bit though with the Nitrate and Phosphate one a bit as with the colour dial disk you read off if the colour is imbetween you have to estimate your imbetween the two figures (ie : 0.36ppm to 0.64ppm). Otherwise i am pretty happy with them. What i have also heard is that they have upped their game compared to the old test kits

Thanks for those links WarrenElvis.

So with the combined nitrate/phosphate kit you only get two vials. With the long reaction times required (6 minutes and 9 minutes) it might be useful to buy the separate kits so you can do them both in parallel.

I guess so but better value for money combined, so what i do to pass the time is, once i start one reaction with nitrate i then go onto the other test kit for ca mg or kh and do those ones while i wait for reaction. Killing to birds with one stone, can pretty much do all tests in about half hour.
