Do you mean 2-3m in depth? That's really thin glass for that. A guy I know broke a hole in his lounge wall for a tank. The tank was supposed to be 60x30x150cm and he got someone to build it with 10mm. It broke while filling

Some tanks do run a long time made of thin glass, but having peace of mind with it is another story. I had a std 4ft tank made of 6mm glass and braced. Tank was 8 years old, but after changing wavemakers the pressure got too much and it bowed and broke. If it was 10mm glass that would not...

Hehehe.. Yeah I needed to.do that with my old tank. Crappy part is that you don't really get a good view of how the placement of a coral or rock looks until you're off the ladder and in front of the tank. After re-calculating you can get away with 15mm glass. Suppose you keep your water level...

I.personally prefer a shallow tank. I like the look of it. Take into consideration working in the tank as well. You going to have a sump, which will add to the total water volume. If you look at your stand, think about the height. You will need around a meter clearing height below your main...

You said 800mm high. To withstand the pressure of the water at that height. You also got to consider the safety factor of the tank. Also salt water is more dense than fresh water, and you going to have a lot of water movement from wavemakers etc.

Lol, yes I know. But you will still need 19mm glass minimum with the tank braced. If you use small angled lenses and more LEDs you should make the depth. You can build a LED unit that will kick @ss compared to a unit you buy also. It seems that cost is not one of the main factors in your build...

At that depth you're going to need very thick glass. The higher you go the thicker the glass. And LEDs would be a better option. You need light to reach the bottom of the tank and you can control them.

    HELP, Aiptasia ?

I honestly have never had an issue with them, but I know some people have. Let's wait to hear from the others. Just make sure you don't try to remove it in.a harsh way and break it in any way. They can grow from a single cell

    HELP, Aiptasia ?

By the looks of it, it is. But nothing to worry about if it's not spreading hectic. I have the odd one in my tanks, with no harm done. I also like adding them in my sump. They are nature's cleaners

Real Reef Rock has hit SA Shores....

Lol, doesn't make sense. But it's not the first time. Guess if you went to the store and asked your questions and shared your thoughts, you might be forcefully removed from the premises.

So does this mean that we cannot air our views on a product if a business advertises it?

So once again all my posts have been removed. This one probably will too. Didn't know you were not allowed to air your thoughts on something. So much for freedom of speech. This is a very biased forum

    Play sand as a subtrate?

@Qaiser the color of the sand depends a lot on where they source it. The guys at green's sand mainly do golf course setups. So thats why they stock white sand. They also have different colours for anyone wanting to experiment. They have green, blue, white, pink, etc. and they are like R40 some...
