    Protein skimmer

    Tank been running for several months, its a berlin skimmer with bigger pump attached. It was working fine but now iv switch my sump to an overflow method ( i used to have a pump to get the water to my second sump) this raised the water level so it doesnt skim anymore.     Protein skimmer

    His guys my sump level has now been raised quite substantially and the skimmer refuses to create any skimmate. How essential is this piece of equipment, as now i have turned it off (makes a lot of noise). Got ample live rock and just 5 small fish. Total volume about 300 litres. What say ye :P

    He was my tester fish, to see how the setup was running. All is well with his behavior just lost a lot of colour. He is a tank fish, so a recondition should be chilled :)

    The pet shop said they had been feeding him on frozen brine shrimp so I have that. I don't have any zoas or xenias. I have around 15kg live rock now in a 200 litre tank I am not running dsb. If i shine a torch at night I see quite a few critters on the rocks so hopefully he will eat those
