i'm assuming u typed this with sarcasm in mind.. the fog lights r meant for fog n therefore should only be used 'in fog'.. i never switch mine on unless i'm on my way to the coast.

well Jamie, all i can say... i'm chuffed as all hell with my led's.. i have growth on my sps's i love my red/orange sunrise n my blue moon time, n don't forget the whole colour popping thing..!
if it wasn't for the cost implication i believe most reefers would use led's, many get stuck on the...
potatoe potatoe.... many ppl change their mh lamps as often as every 12 months due to the fact that they start to depreciate straight after start up... the other problem is, there should be a 'burning in' period of at least 36 hours, this ensures that all the metals n chemicals inside the arc...
ok... so u'd like to revive the thread... i still believe the year old posts r relevant.. pretty sure that goldie died n ended up in the hammer. too much flow can damage a hammer, so pretty sure it's got no chance against a fish...
dc fans are a great add.. by changing the polarity u can change direction (in most panel fans), so u can decide to blow or suck, as it were, depending on ambient. just watch out if the ambient is above the desired tank temp, u can create a 'temperature bar' and inadvertently heat the water...
quick 1.. u know that thread is more than a year old? Helga is long gone, NZ if memory serves, her tank is a unfortunately a shadow of it's former self..

2. consistency! nothing lasts forever but led's depreciate at a fraction of the rate of t5's n...
