ok so i battled for a while to set my cone skimmer untill i stumbles on the following youtube vids

not Skims but the principle is the same

most skimmers come pretty much plug in and play with a gate valve for adjusting water level within the skimmer but the cones and some of the newer skimmers come with an air adjustment which i dident fullt understand but can now see how dramatically it influences the skimmers performance.

heres mine

Sk181 internal cone

I tried to fine tune but cant get the bubbles any smaller in the neck, does it only apply to cones? Its pulling nice stuff though. Will upload a pic just now

Yoh, thats awsome skimmate, Nic try setting down th amount of air being pulled in to by closing the screw in the air intake chamber, this will make the bubbles finer. make very slight adjustments the settings are extreemly sensitive.

Hey Leslie stunning skimmer again, and give it more time,i set my atb skimmit half way up in the cup and find that it skimms wet and if i drop it down to where the cup start it skimms dry,i also found with more water through my skimmer the bubbles are finer and contact time is longer,so what you should do is drop your skimmer to get more water and see what happens other wise lift your skimmer and see then what happens,i agree and disagree with the you tube post, ever sump is not the same so every skimmer works different according to water levels and sizes of skimmer,i always liked to fit a internal skimmer on the last chamber where the uplift pump is so that the good water gets skimmed and lifted by the up lift pump with out delay, and again stunning skimmer and when you run cone there is no turning back.

This skimmer is now rocking, compare it to the pic I posted a week ago.
