well i decided on getting a new tank. saw a few IM tanks and herd great things about them so i decided to start one up. tank has been up and running since middle of July. . i had mostly rock in the tank. i have since removed it as i suspect the rock was leaching phosphate back into the water..not confirmed as i have no test kits. i am running a red devik nano skimmer, rated for 150L. the rock i removed is in a drum being cycled. . will give it a couple of months. i have battled with GHA a lot, seem to be winning now lr been removed. also running orca cubes.. i plan on getting a reactor for the tank in December. or i meight leave that out.. i am a little nervous though. .i hear the tanks do have a problem with sealing..

thanks tekkengal love the tank.. lots of work to make it look awesome. my problem is i suck at scaping. . need a book scaping for dummies . using Aquabeuty LEDs also happy with the unit

lol, yeah scaping is the hardest part of the tank. I would suggest that you look at the tanks that you really like and take ideas from there. That helped me when I scaped my tank :)

thanks i will do just that.. i also need a few, good pieces of LR.. was thinking two island pinnacles. . someone gave me a false grammar as a birthday gift.. now that's a birthday gift i was not 100% happy with. .his the only fish in the tank..

not sure if your light units is enough for a clam. What unit do you use?

hi Riaan Well the unit is a 35w Aquabeuty LED unit.. but just after 12 today the tank burst.. almost middle of the tank

Oh no!!! :(
How did that happen?
Did you manage to save everything?

Very sad news Quinton...disappointed to hear this. Hope you get it sorted out promptly by supplier. :(

very good question nothing fell against the tank.. so it was not a rock or something bumping the tank.. everything is in a bucket with airstone and heater. . apparently the innovative marine tanks do burst

I'm sure that they will sort you out fairly quickly. Got my fingers crossed for you and hope that everything survives!
Quick question, do these tanks have curved glass (rounded corners)?

They do and I think most of the tanks I have read up overseas that have burst have been at the curve like Quinton's tank...but funny enough mine was a different issue all together... :m30:

thanks i sure they will sort,it out.. yes it has a curved glass..you will see in the picture the break runs from the top right hand corner to the bottom of the tank just before the curve.. mark is correct this is a common problem with these tanks.. so its nothing i did wrong
