I want to share my current tank with you guys.

Due to a couple of issues with the old cube I decided to shut it down and scale down ever so slightly.

The tank dimensions are 90x60x50, water level at 45cm.
As the title suggests it is a sps dominant tank.

Equipment list:

Flow - 2 hydor koralia 3 and 2 wp25
Skimmer - reef octopus xs 160
Marine magic doser
Hailea hc250a chiller
Prestige gamma unit - consits of leds as well as 4 x 24watt t5
Filtration - currently converting to biopellets, struggled with liquid carbon dosing.

The tank is a couple months old all ready, but it is starting to take shape rather nicely.

It is 4 weeks into my biopellet conversion.

I had a slight cyano outbreak for about 2 weeks, but is it finally clearing up nicely.

Just snapped a few photos with my phone today.

Something interesting I noticed when I added another 100ml of pellets last week was the difference in colour between the old and new pellets

Running 200ml of pellets just for completeness of the post

Just a quick update

My sump started leaking about two weeks ago. It started out as only a small leak but quickly picked up the pace.

So I devised a simple way to keep the tank running smoothly

I then got myself a new sump which I must say it really well built and was at my house three days after I placed my order.

Then I also decided to get a new stand for the tank and move it into the corner of the living room.

I have to thank @JS for helping me to build it

After some sanding, sealing and varnish it now looks like this

Then the cladding was put onto the stand

I also took the biopellets offline after a massive cyano battle. It became a thick thick mat on the substrate and rocks.

I am going back to an algae scrubber as it worked extremely well for me on my old tank

Just a shot when the necessary equipment got plugged in

I am waiting for some real reef rock to come then I will go about the aquascape.

I had to take my acropora horrida off one of the rocks and took a quick photo for size reference

Nice tank:m106:

Please tell me more about your scrubber...size? where exactly is it located? some pics also pls...

@Bigbone

The scrubber is located in the first chamber of my sump. This is to the size of the screen, the scrubber can be placed in any chamber.

The scrubber is about 24cm x 18cm. I am using shade cloth for the screen.
Currently I am using a 10watt led floodlight , but over the weekend I will build an led unit that will consist of 6 red leds and 3 warm whites, all one watts.

I am using a cheap resun airpump as it is the quietest one I could find, you can hardly hear it is running.

I will also get a container which will house the screen to block excess light from going into the sump.

The airstone is about 19cm, so it covers the whole screen.

I will post pictures over the weekend for you so that you can get an better idea.

hope the explanation helped a bit :)

Its so easy to build and works out a lot cheaper than steel... I did over engineer the stand for peace of mind...

The next step is to get the doors made to match the tv cabinet doors

Lost a few frags to stn. My alk dropped to 5.9dkh.
Studies got in the way of weekly testing but lesson learned....

My skimmers pumps impeller got a nasty crack in on Friday evening.... You could hear as soon as it happened...

So the tank is only running on the algae scrubber until I get a replacement impeller

Sorry to hear.Pity you in PE , have a spare skimmer you could use REEFTEK TS2 with brand new impeller. hope you come right soon.

Just a picture of the scrubber after 4 weeks. The growth is spreading really well and the roots are taking well. Just gave it a light clean
