This will be my first marine tank and looking forward to the journey. I created this post to share my progress with all.

The setup arrived last night. Need to sort out the plumbing and fill this weekend.

Paul don't fill it just yet. We can make the tank look a lot better by doing a small mod to the overflow. That overflow is very bulky, looks ugly, and takes up a lot of real estate. We can make it slimline if you want.

What are the tank dimensions? Looks close to a cube?

Great. Will you be able to get the tank in your car? I should have some spare glass lying around.

I am moving some empty tanks in the morning so 15h00 onwards on Saturday or anytime on Sunday will be fine for me.

A big thank you to Keith (Nemos Janitor) for all the effort and advice on Saturday afternoon. Keith converted my bulky overflow to a slimline overflow which mean I gain more space in the tank. Thanks again Keith, really appreciated from my side.

So spent most of the weekend setting up the tank. As mentioned above, Keith converted my overflow to a slimline one. I did some plumbing on the outlet. Clean and added sand plus some coral.

Would like to get some feedback on my aquascaping before I add water later this week

@nudibranch, I like the idea of islands, gives you plenty of prime locations to add corals, and nice swimming space / hiding place.

Chances are, however, that as soon as you add corals, you gonna move the scaping around again, at least 5 times more... ;)

The substrate seem to be quite coarse, do you plan on keeping any gobies?

What are your stocking ideas?

@Gesiggie the substrate is the AquaMedic Hydrocarbonate (aragonite) it is 2-3mm.

My opinion is that there may be a touch to much in the tank. But otherwise all looks cool.

I can not see very clearly on the pics (must be old eyes ;) ) But it does seem to be a bit coarse for gobies. You could ask Keith's opinion, as I assume that he saw the substrate on saturday?
If it is medium to fine substrate, then it should be fine for gobies :)

Thanks Keith

Paul, my preference is somewhere between 15 and 20mm thick. But if you want to keep gobies then you can go a little deeper. Do not go too deep as you could end up with Anaerobic dead spots in the gravel.
