Hi,
I tested some led’s for marine application some time ago and found that Led’s was not suitable for marine growth. The led’s I used were Cree’s with optical lenses. I posted my findings on MASA but that was a long time ago. As I am in the led light manufacturing business I always receive information on new products. I received information on these led chips for marine application. I tested them and mounted the 10W ones in my 10W down lighter lamp housing with heat sink and driver for 12V application. For the UV ones I will have to make changes to fit them to my lamp. I like what I am seeing so far but I still want to take par readings at different depths on the white ones. See led specs below.
WHITE LED
This ultra-bright LED is specifically designed for reefkeeping aquariums to ensure optimal coral growth conditions and colour enhancement.
The LED is very bright, with 900 Lumens in a 140 degree lambertian pattern.
Compared to most LEDs, you would say this is 270,000 millicandela or 120 Watt Halogen light. Either way, its incredibly bright! The output is a ‘Aquamarine cool‘ 15000K, not a “Cool' incandescent-looking white.
Specifications:
1. Shape: Square
2. Color:Aquamarine Cool white
3. Colour temperature: 15000K
4. Size: 20 x 29.5mm
5. Light source type: High Efficient power led
6. Led chips Qty:1 piece
7. LED Chip Brand: Epistar
8. Forward Current: 900mA
9. Forward VoltageC 9.0 – 10.8V
10. Total Power: 10 Watt

BLUE LED
This ultra-bright LED is specifically designed for reefkeeping aquariums to ensure optimal coral growth conditions and colour enhancement. The LED is very bright with a 140 degree lambertian pattern. Compared to most LEDs we found authentic EPISTAR LEDs to be even brighter than CREE, you would say this is a 120 Watt Halogen light. Either way, its incredibly bright! The output is a Aquamarine Royal Blue with a 470nm wavelenthth –
Specifications:
1. Shape: Square
2. Color: Aqua Royal Blue
3. Colour wave length: 470NM
4. Size: 20 x 29.5mm
5. Light source type: High Efficient power led

There’s also a white blue 10W combination chip but it is not as bright as the pure white one.
See picture of my light housing I made it with a wide diffuser lens to further increase the light angle. I designed this lamp for a 10W house down lighter but I think it will work very well for marine tanks.
