On inspection of my tank now, I have discovered tiny white things drifting around my tank, and then I saw some of these tiny white things chilling on the glass, MOVING!

Haha, what are these things?

was this at lights out?do you perhaps have any pics?

well the lights are on, and can still see them. will try take a pic now, but might not show up.. let me check

Pods?

Cannot focus on them, there are loads of them surfing the current in my tank, and quit a few dotted around the glass. they move quit quicky aroung the glass, and they are miniture..

Any idea's?

Pic 1 is aiptasia and unfortunately they are a pest and you will have to kill them.

Pic 2 macro algae. your fish will eat it when you introduce them to the tank.

The small white things sound like pods and they can only be good for your tank.

Second Alfie

Dammit, they look cool. Anyway, how do I go about killing these critters now?

And I have just re-aquascaped.

A number of ways. Most require a syringe.

If you have nothing, inject with boiling RO water.

If you have kalkwasser inject with that.

You could also use commercial products like Joes Juice or Cape Coral Care Terminator.

If you can't get a syringe then remove the rock from the aquarium (should be possible since it's not established yet) and scrape the whole section of rock it's on off with a knife/screwdriver (only really works if it's on a flat piece).

Thanks, but just to get this correct, as I am new in the game. Do I inject strait into the little guy, or into the tank. there are about 5 of them on the one rock, so i'm going to just pull it out, stab it, scrap it about, then rinse in nsw, and place back into the tank. Is that cool?

They retract very quickly. Follow them with the needle and inject at the base. This should kill it. Be careful with the scraping as any piece that stays behind will grow again.

If you can remove the rock, then i reccommend the "blow torch" method, burn it out, then rinse in old tank water (do not replace water back into tank)

Rad, I see its spread onto another piece of rock today! dammit! They can obviously cruise around?
