Hi,
I'm looking for a Silver Scat that is already acclimatized and eating well.

They grow big, what you going to do with him then? One of the reasons you might not see them in LFS.

best is to contact all major LFS, see if they bring I'm one for you. Still think it will be difficult as most won't buy such a fish because of its size and also most LFS will need to bring in more than one to make profit. Try one of the fresh water forums like TASA, maybe someone has one. Good luck!

You can't eat captive fed fish as food you give them is not for for human consumption.

@Raven the big lfs in attetbury value mart has stock, likely their hillfox branch might also have. A bit pricy though at 140 for small around 4-5cm.

I wonder now -
Will the small once be ready for a marine tank?
At what age/size can it be moved to marines?

Some people say these can be adjusted over 6-8 weeks to full saltwater. Others say it's possible to chuck them in... NO! Adults are typically found in saltwater and juvis in brackish. I'd say best acclimatise them over 6-8 weeks. This way the fish will gradually adjust it's osmotic balance to full saltwater.

I bought a spotted puffer ( Brackish water) some time ago and he was in a brackish tank and i dripped him for 10 hours and then placed him in my Tank, that was 3 months ago and he is doing fine and eating like a pig. Was thinking of putting in some Scats and Mono Angels aswell.....
O he lives with a Trigger and a Morey eel and No Problems:m01:
