Hi Reefers,

So the return journey begins – tank designed & ordered PLUS all equipment, lighting etc. (now just the long wait for it to be made, delivered & installed)

The LONG TERM PLAN is an environment & reef where we can keep Clown Fish & a Magnifica anemone (maybe even two), with some other reef friendly friends in a minimalistic as possible aquascape, Island Style with a “center“ piece rockwork

Been doing lots of research on the successful care of Magnifica, but please if anyone as some advice, personal experience, tips & suggestions, please send my way – all input will be greatly appreciated

Who knows, maybe even one day TOTM …….. got to dream right LOL

Display Tank - Rimless
  • 1,600mm x 700mm x 500mm
  • StarFire Glass – 20mm
  • 4 Sided See Through
  • Corner Box overflow

Tank Stand, Cabinet & Sump
  • 2,400mm x 800mm x 800mm
  • Galvanized
  • Sump - 10mm Glass
  • 1,200mm x 400mm x 350mm (+/-)
  • Includes ATO compartment
  • Space for Battery back-up with Inverter
The Equipment List & Other
  • TMC Reef Skimmer 1.000L
  • TMC Reef Reactor Carbon / Phosphate
  • TMC Reef Dosing Pump 3 x channel
  • Tunze Flow Pump 6095
  • Tunze Nano-Rock
  • Tunze Controller
  • Tunze ATO
  • Tunze Return ("super silent)
  • Jager Heater 300w
  • Teco Chiller 500L
  • PacificSun, Metis Hyperion R2
  • Reef Rock (+/- 30kg)
  • Aragonite (TBC)
Planned Fish List (does it ever work out like this LOL)
  • Gobies – Various
  • Clown Fish – Various
  • Mandarin (captive bread)
  • Yellow Tang
  • Kole Tang
  • Potters Angel or Coral Beauty
  • Leopard Wrasse
  • Flame Hawk
With Regards to Coral – the “jury” is still out J
  • Possibly, “easier” softies only
  • Pumping Xenia?
  • Silver Branch Xenia
  • Lemon Tree
  • OR
  • Possibly SPS
  • With some show pieces of LPS
Any suggestions / advice here, considering the Anemone’s?

So reefers, that’s my story & plan – looking forward to the journey with you & once again any & all advice most welcome

Cheers
Michael

Just new there would be another creation coming your side.

Some questions..

You say the tank is 20mm star fire. Is that a 2x10mm laminate? Or you made a typo and is 19mm.

The other thing I would love to see you do is a special softy tank with a lot so NPS corals. You have the tenacity and will to do a great one.

Wish you all the best with your new tank.

The wait for the stunning pic's is going to be so ......

Thanks Mathew & 20mm is 2 x 10mm laminated (builder had some from a tank cancellation, so got a good price). Can't make up my mind on the corals

Nice to see you back in the hobby, tank sounds great! :)

Thanks & so looking forward

Nice set up man..n welcome to the reef scene in ct

Shot & good to be here

Going to be great. Keep us posted with lots of pics. Like the four side viewable.

Thanks & will do :m106:

Nice setup plan. Why dont you go for a mixed system? It is big enough and if you play around woth the flow and light you can keep almost anything.

Moving more towards this - I think

OK, nothing much to update - still waiting patiently for the tank to arrive

In the meantime, thought I would share my marine journey
