Hi guys

Im tired of running up and down for RO water.

Want to set up a RO Machine on my next move. I want to know the basics. Is it plug and play? Ive heard about waste water?

If you have a RO unit, does it connect to normal tap fitting, what happens when RO storage container is full etc.

Any handy links so I can learn the basics?

My waste runs directly to the drain. Due to the placement of my system. At my previous house, the waste run down a hosepipe to the bottom of the garden. some guys use the waste to fill their swimming pools.

You need at least 2 drums. Of big enough size to do a 10% water change. One for RO, and the other for your saltwater mix. do not use one drum for both actions, else you will never get a TDS reading of zero out of that drum, unless you spend a lot of effort to clean it after last salt mix.

Im using NSW so its just for top ups, about 2ltr a day. Would like to plan it so it can fill drum that will be my RO container for a ATU

At the moment everything is manual.

we have a automated solinoid valve and electric float kit that you can use to automate system

as requested email sent ;)

One last thing, if you have this shut off valve. Can you not run it directly to your return chamber in sump reducing the need for a separate RO container and top off system. I use NSW so will only need the RO for top ups

@Daryl Norton, we don't really advocate that but I do know of reefers that when this route and it worked for them, just one thing, you then would need a bracket to mount your float switch and we do have that:
