Hi Guys,

Hope you all had a good break over the festive season :)

I would like some advice from the more experienced reefers.....

I've been running a fish only system over the past 2-3 years now, and would like to move on to a mixed reef, predominantly LPS and build a new base as the current cabinet is falling apart, its made of chip board and lined with a steel frame.

My Current Setup is as follows:

1200 L X 450 D x 600 H
Sump with DSB
Maxspect Radion 160w 16000k
1x Vortex Mp40w
3500LPH SunSun Flow Pump
DIY Auto Top Up
I have a TS3 skimmer which is not currently connected to the system
A PH Controller, and Temperature Controller with co2 bottle. I have no idea on how to use this, its quite old

Fish:
Regal tang
Six Line Wrasse
Blenny
Percula clownfish

Coral:
Hammer Coral
Derasa clam
Few Shrooms
A Small Monti Frag

What I would like to do is:
-I would like to lift the base of the tank to be about 1m from the floor, this would make the DT a eye level height.

-Build a new sump with BioCubes only and ditch the DSB, i would like to incorporate a RO reservoir as well. What else would you suggest for this ?

-Eventually run a doser with Randy's recipe

Any hands on help will be greatly appreciated

:peroni::peroni::peroni: will be readily available, or not if any of our Muslim reefers are willing to help :)

build a new stand from wood, its just as strong and doesnt require a welder :)

I'm considering going with a steel stand, I know someone that can weld for me. and I'll get the steel for cheap. Making a stand from wood wont give me piece of mind, plus the wood would take up unnecessary space in the base as my tank is not that deep.

How do you guys clad the wood to a steel frame ?
