Howsit guys,
How do u connect the atu pipe (8mm) white pipe (soft) to the 6mm hard pipe of the stirrer, is there a John Quest fitting that allows this connection or can i just push the 6mm into the 8mm and cable tie.
Was also wondering if the back pressure in the stirrer will cause the ro n kalk mix to flow back into top up tank through the RO inlet pipe or must i add a non return valve. If i increase the bend height of the inlet to slightly above the outlet will this combat it?

a picture would help but most kalk stirrers have a non return valve fitted to eliminate water running back to the RO resiviour..

Got the unit second hand, so not sure about non return valve. Model is a Reef Octopus. The fitting in the pic is a john quest or similar that will accept the 6mm rigid pipe. Its the connection of the rigid pipe to the soft atu pump pipe im looking at solving, well and now also the back siphon so it appears. will a Standard air stop valve work for liquid.

we have 8mm to 6mm reducers aswell as the check valves you would need....
where did you get the unit from???? why did they not supply you with the stuff you need
to complete the job....
thats like buying a fridge with no compressor in it

Ok good stuff will pop around one of the days next week if not tommorow, if you available. does the reducer accept both rigid n silicone pipe? I got it from a fellow masa member, not sure how he ran it?

it wont work on silicone pipe cause there is no strength for the teeth in the john guest firrting to bite into to hold it , so only r.o.pipe will do there

@Hammerhead . I have same kalkstirrer and i use my tunze osmolator which also has about 8mm soft pipe. Gave it a bit of heat and squeezed the Ro pipe into it. As far as non return valve, don't waste time with the blue AM ones, blew through two of those. I have an awesome non return never had to change it, bit pricey but worth it

or you can remove the complete white fitting or john guest fitting. and screw in a threaded bard fitting.
I got one that is a elbow, and the flexible hose fits over that.

I sorted out the stirrer and all was fine up until lat week. Now my atu pump wont pump water into the stirrer. I removed the connection from non return valve and the pump is able to pump through it so that shud be fine. When I blow into the inlet pipe i see bubble rising in the stirrer so Know its not blocked at the inlet. The pump on the atu is an otp 200 5v pump, any option of changing to to a higher rated pump at the same votage?
