Hi All.

I bought some Red Sea NO3-PO4-X today and I was reading the dosing instructions. It say it should not be used with any sulphur based denitrators or phosphate and nitrate reducers, as it will cause interferance.

I was just wondering if Brightwell Xport NO3 would qualify as I currently have it in my tank?
Also would any of the other chemical filteration I have be a problem?
I currently have phosgaurd, purigen and chemi-pure elite, as far as I know none of them are sulphur based just want to make sure.

I too would like to know, just started dosing this stuff every second day since last week.
Was planning on getting some phosgaurd but the instructions says not too use with any other media.

Maybe @AD Scott can help out wrt the Xport NO3?

I would say no you shouldnt
As the Red Sea No3-Po4 X is a form of carbon dosing and if you fix all those different types of filtration you will mess up your redfield ratio in the system causing complications

Does a NP reactor fit into this category too, have one running at the mo, and been adding NO3-PO4-X for a few days now?

Why would you want to use both
They are essentially the same thing one being solid and the other liquid but both a source of carbon

xport 3 needs a carbon source

Ok thanks guys, gonna try it and see how it works but will still be keen to hear about the other media.

I understand some of the other media may not be needed, but I want to know if any harm can be done?

Well that covers what I have then, so I guess it should be ok.
