I want to upgrade my fish tank to acrylic. 1200*600*500 (10mm) or 1200*600*600(12mm),any thought or information.
Did anyone have company to make the carylic fish tank in cape town?

Acrylic is stronger than glass so you can go thinner

it is, but scratches 10 times more
i got a acrylic 90cm and its not worth it, the same tank made in 12mm glass is less than half the price

The up side of acrylic is that the scratches can be polished out very easily. Glass is a PITA.

I did a quote R6000 1200*600*600 10mm,i am try buy a penal from maizcy about R3500 12MM,and i will find the company to glue,will see how much they charge?

Working with Acrylic is very specialized.I would not recommend buying acrylic and then getting any company to glue them together unless they work with acrylic aquariums regularly.I have seen a few jobs go terribly wrong when the glue comes apart due to the pressures.
I will revert with a quote.

Black is more cost effective than clear.

I have a good contact, paid R1900 for glass for new build.

Pieces consist of following sizes out of 10mm glass:
1270 x 610 (2pieces)
520 x 610 (2pieces)
1250 x 500 (2pieces)
580 x 500 (1piece)
1250 x 60 (2pieces)
500 x 60 (2pieces)
500 x 100 (1piece)
590 x 60 (2pieces)

All edges on above polished and bevelled plus 3 holes waterjetted and they have been bevelled aswell.
