Skimmer working more at night?

I just noticed my skimmer while I was watching the corals eating the lance fish I fed them, seems to be working MORE at night.

I found out the right level to keep the skimmer skimming and had it the whole day going along, looked at it about an hour after total lights out in my house and noticed the bubbles going mad

Does a skimmer work more at night than it does during the day?

What skimmer is it and did you just feed them? I've got a SRO 3000 external, and mine does the same +-5-10min after feeding....

If you had just fed the fish i would say it was more a reaction to the oils added to the water via the food..

my skimmer will skim fairly dormantly untill i add food or do a waterchange...

same here - BB3000 seems to rest most of the time, comes alive after I feed, or when I tinker aound in the tank - adding LR/corals etc.

Bubble Magnus and yup I fed each of my corals a bit of lance fish

When I feed my tube anemones and hermits pieces of hake, my skimmer also over react.

When feeding u adding excess nutrients , an hence the skimmer goes crazy, but its just doin its job really lol....
