Howsit Guys,

Im torn between the following two skimmers, i need your thoughts on which would be the better skimmer for a Heavy Stocked Tank

SKIMZ - SK252 Cone External Rated 3000lts

or

Reef Octopus Cone XP 5000ss External Rated 2400lts

Dont know how the back up service of the skimz are in S.A

Ill rather go for ReefOcto as the Back up is 110%

I want to Rock the boat a little now,

What you guys think about the Tunze DOC skimmer rated for 4000lts

^^^^^overated and over priced, I have seen close to over 150+ different TOTM's on various forums from around the world and have only seen Tunze skimmers on about 3.
Tunze are Tops in terms of Flow no doubt but skimmers i really think they need to get with the program and come to the party in updating their designs.

Have you seen the new ATI's?

Whats the size of the Skimz and the total pumps and air draw?

SKIMZ Rated for 3000lts - Air draw is 1920ltp/h

where can i get the air draw information for the RO skimmers

Why dont you have a look at the ATB cone skimmers?
Reef octos are ok
Skimz, i dunno, havent tried it......YET

I know the 5000 pulls 2200L of air,
3000 - 1500LPH air,
2000 - 1000LPH air

But than again air draw is not the be all and end all of a good skimmer, its about balance as the ATB's dont pull crazy air but they are really well balanced in terms of water to air

Price on the ATB skimmers +- ?

Much much more that the Skims and OCTO
