Hi I have found a little blob on my Zoa on thursday last week Luminous Orange with Black Inside.

Within 5 days it has multiplied to what is on my picture.
I do apoligise for the mutedness- if i take with the flash it is blurred.

Please tell me is this Friend or Foe?

not eggs - if you touch them they close up make a small ball. My son's opinion is that they are 'eating' the zoa's He says only a predator can multiply that quickly to devour the food - like bacteria.

in two days there are about 20 new/more Luminous orange (outside) and black (inside) 'units' for lack of a better word.

They resemble a miniature type zoa - do you get someting like that?

I saw something similar at Petstop yesterday, and it it some kind of seasquirt

Hi Warr I looked it up on the net - nowhere does it look like this and it multiplies - doubles every two days. Had the rock out of the tank and took closeups as this colony bother me - just now it is harmfull.

Please help?

They are Chain Sea Squirts or Chain Tunicates.

You going have to do some investigating, by what I have read they can be quite invasive, but that does seems to be in nature.

My personal experience of Sea Squirts, is they are great biological filters.
