Hi all

Just come over from the new members forum.

Sorry about the quality of pictures, but here goes.

Upgraded from a Rio 180 in August 08 to a Perc 90. This picture is after 3 weeks change over. Well happy with it at that stage but have a bit of an algae problem now I believe it to be cyno and hair aglae.

I will download some pictures to see what you all think.

Criticism is most welcome and enjoy the pictures as I post them

gosh rob thats stunning!, very pretty tank.

have you gota closed loop running on the tank?

promises promises, we def need more than one pic of that tank.

thanks for sharing, really looking nice

whats the fish top right, red in colour? a type of hawk perhaps?

i see the algae is localised to a large degree, and not out of controll by any means, have you tried shaking that LR and seeing how much detritus is inside it? perhaps its feeding the green hair algae?

Crispin

That will be my scarlet hawkfish, I've had about 4 years now and he is a character.

I was looking for the algae in my own picture but you ain't seen nothing yet.

Rob, are you still suffering the cyano? if so you can run an external cannister from the cupboard under the perc, and run the inlet/outlet through the cable way and run the water down from the larger chamber and back up into the recirc chamber, i had the perc 120, it worked well.

Looking great Rob! Thanks for sharing. The "stuff" in the last picture, are diatoms. They feed off silicates in the water. This will pass once the silicates have been completely "used up". Then the diatoms too will die.

Other than that - your tank looks smashing, man! I too LOVE the scaping! Awesome for sharing with us!

WOW Rob, great looking tank there - love the scaping! Ditto to what Crispin asked - do you have a closed loop system?
