Have completed the imitation rock and need to paint it. What paint can I use that is available in south Africa
The reason I want to paint it is to seal it properly

tricky question, why would you even want to paint it? it would be covered with corraline over time?

perhaps post a pic of the rock ..
 
I agree with Leslie on this one.

Do not paint the rock. Within 3 - 6 months the rock will be covered and not look so bleak.
 
What did you use to make the rock? Are you worried about it leaching something? If made properly I would let it sit in RO water for a week or so changing the water every second day. If you seal it it will not be porous and will not have a place for the relevant bacteria to take hold.
