They are way cheaper than most kits out there and the cynic in me wonders how accurate they are bec ause sometimes cheaper is rubbish. I'm not expecting them to match up to a photometer but do they square up to most test kits in accuracy?

Most of the salifert is good kits, but there phosphate always read 0 wich there was a thread that there is bad batches of test kits..

the rest i have and use daily and also redsea kits and i get the same reading

Hi guys its funny you posted,i was going to post as well i had a few problems with salifert i found that kh was a problem and i mailed salifert and this is a month ago and still waiting for a response ,i had a client that bought salifert and when tested his kh was showed 6 so he buffed with reef builder to a 10 kh,but when he called me the next morning to tell me that his corals were not doling good,i then when out to test with sera and seachem and found the test on sera and seachem showed a kh of 20,so i had to do a water change to get the parameters in order, and as we now with a kh so high your cal goes nuts so buffered the cal the evening and then the next morning all good,i was so lucky that his sps did not die off,i then mixed a 25lt drum of salt for 24hours and tested and found that salifert was totally out then i tested again and found another reading,i ask this how safe are the test kits we using,i have never had a problem so far with sera or seachem ,like i said i am still waiting for a response

Marketing most of the time. Inflate prices to make it seem good quality:lol:

LOL man they are used by Zeovit users so i trust them

That is very disturbing news. I'm currently using the Sailifert KH tests and now I'm stressing like mad As I currently have a reading of 8.6DKH. My calcium is a bit high, about 480ppm, but not dangerously so, (Elos test) but I'm really worried about the KH now. I'll have to take my water for testing tomorrow.

I've have good results.

Why not PM him, or invite him to help on this thread, he is a member on the forum!

Who is a member on the forum? Someone from Sailifert I hope

Lekker

My KH test kit is out by 3. Tested against TM. I'm also using the iodine test kit thats not giving a reading which is worrying. Losing faith in the brand.

With the KH test are the guys pulling the plunger till the tip of the plunger reaches 1ml or are they pulling it back till the liquid is at 1ml? If it's the latter then the results would be inaccurate. Just want to clarify

Good point! someone could easily make this mistake!

There's that void between the end of the plunger and where the liquid starts
