Idol Marine now has a facebook page to keep you up to date with what's happening in our world and to bring you our specials and newsworthy information even faster.

epsom salt for treatment of bloated fish

Hi guys

I have a question regarding the use of epsom salt in marine tanks..have a regal angel whose stomach has bloated up a bit and stopped eating...it was a healthy eater before and is still swimming around tank and looking at food but not eating...fish was quarantined before to get it eating so was very healthy..i suspect that the bits could have blocked intestine (seen this often on wild caught malawis which were fed bits which then swell up in gut) i want to transfer it back to QT and administer metronidazole and also use epsom salt for the laxative effect it has (used it succesfully on wild freshwater cichlids as well)..will it be of any use in saltwater and is there anything i need to look out for before i add the epsom salt..

i just need the fish to K@K out whatever is blocking the gut..i know it will recover once this is done as this angel was doing very well. its not stressing at all

I can maybe get a male blue throat trigger...must these fish be kept in pairs, and will the male lose color if there is no female?

also want to know if i will have problems keeping it with a niger trigger...otherwise the niger trigger will have to find a new home...

We started our tour inside the italian pet show Zoomark starting from Sicce stand in Hall 19. With this article we are here to tell you about it.*After the last few years we have been accustomed to seeing Sicce together with LGMAquari, italian brand dedicated to skimmer, calcium reactor and so on, this year we found only Sicce to greet us, and the lack of Neapolitan coffee was heard.

Sicce has not brought to the fair big novelties from the hardware side, according to them, but instead there were many things to see.*The first exhibitor that we found showed the products LGMAquari, where Sicce is distributor, and a small but great news! The new feed proposed by Sicce.

To date, the new series, which is called AkuaBlu comes in 3 forms: Algae Premium, Premium and Premium Color Artemia & Calanus, the latter rich in astaxanthin to further develop the color of our fish. Along with these was presented the new K & V SPS Extra-Color a liquid feed specifically designed for SPS corals as is evident from the name itself.

In this picture we can appreciate the texture and color of the Premium Color food.

The proposed dimensions are in two variants, a particle size from 0.9 to 1.4 mm and a larger from 1.4 to 2.2 mm.

Of course there were all the other products that are already famous, such as the Organic Control, the acclaimed food for corals Calanus and H & O Corals.

The new line of chemical filter media in full force was also present, however, already presented at the Zoomark two years ago.

We arrive at the end in the corner of the stand which was set up with a MiniReef showcasing the beautiful Sicce Min�, just appreciated on our pages, and the new small powerhead right fit for Nanoreef.

Here we see the new small Sicce in shows, it is still in prototype version, but soon will on the market, there are only a few details still to be decided, as confirmed by Federico,* Sicce sales manager.

2.7m Tank

Guess i've been lurking long enough. thought i'd start my tank thread. got myself a 2700x650x700 tank. kinda big tank for a first timer but hey i know myself would have regretted a smaller one:thumbup:.

been cycling for about 3 weeks. Seem to have a lot of brown algae growing everywhere hoping that's normal. anyways know you guys are pic hogs so....

Hi Guys
I have a 165Lt tank minus volume of rock ect gives me 150Lt of actual water. I would just like to know the following:

a) Do I do 50Lt water change once a month or
b) Do 25Lt water change twice a month?

My thinking is that with a 50Lt change, after two weeks the whole 50Lt's has started to get dirty whereas
with 25Lt water change twice a week there will at least be 25Lt clean fresh water available.

Is this way of thinking logical or not?
