I did not add any now coral after this happened did not want to destroy more coral and waste money

I'm now using seachem seagel with a bag of purigen in a small reactor to keep the po4 down

I target feed the coral with seachem zoo and phyto plankton once a week

my system used to use allot of alk mg and ca, then the rocks stated to cover up with brown/ dark green algae, now i barley have do add any ca or mg and about 5ml alk per week is this normal to happen on a new tank with artificial rock?

thank you

This could just be diatoms, which are normal in a young tank.

Can you think of a time you may have moved him from the spot of full extension to another spot which may have caused the minimal extension? Its also worth doing a close inspection for possible parasite infestation such as brown flatworm. I found that flatworm can cause this and that a dip was the ultimate fix.

i see your alk is 9.1, has this increased of late?
can you maybe measure before and after your next WC and ph too

but i agree with the direct flow advice

imo look at phyton and zooplankton, i thing there is iron in and coral pro growth have high levels of iron, iodine, trace elements, i think you are over dosing trace element. stop with adding it for two weeks. it also looks like you have some black turf algae on your rocks meaning that there is allot of doc,dom in there.

did some research zoo and phyton has aminos in it, there is your problem with doc. your skimmer must be taking allot of dark .... out. less is beter until your skimmaid light up like tee stop the phyton and zoo
the frog is so fat as a lazy dog, i dont have to catch food i rather absorb the aminos. i only dose when my system is uln and corals spit out there zooxanthellea.

Thank you for all the responses, I will stop with the feeding for now, you are correct the skim mate is very dark

have tested the TDS of my lfs ro water and it tested 5 ppm so I got my own ro-di unit that is testing 0 ppm at the moment

the ph is 8.2 will test ph and kh of fresh mix salt water and tank before i do a water change

Frogspawn don't like direct flow.
Can you perhaps move it to a more sheltered place in your tank?

I do agree with this, I only have the return pump running atm

PS there has been no change with the frogspawn

if i look at your shrooms flow is almost not high anouth mine sway and if flow is to much the mantal cuts it but is stil opens

How long have you had that LED light on your tank? If it's a new light the coral may not be used to it. Also, how long has the coral been like this for?

It’s been a couple of weeks and the coral is looking much better even with the wave maker on. The issue I’m sure was the overfeeding thanks for all your help
